Metal shields are made from iron plates that are cold-forged, the reverse side is covered with felt; grips and pommels are made from metal, natural leather or from their combination. Forging is made with rivets and leather.

Shields for decoration are made from the metal plate of the thickness 1,5 mm. They have a peg for hanging on the walls.

Shields for fighting are from the metal plate of the thickness 2,0 mm.

Painting of shields and long-shields is made with water diluting ecological colors. Instead of SH0018a,b is the painting sprayed on the shield and the hand finished.
